Las Supper Imagine we turn back the hands of time to the heyday of soul...

Las Supper
Imagine we turn back the hands of time to the heyday of soul music when Motown and Stax records were leading a musical revolution. Now, let’s bring Hip Hop, our generation’s musical revolution into the picture. For example, imagine Talib Kweli as a member of the Temptations or Sam & Dave being Wayne & Dave. This is the concept being explored by the group Las Supper. A young powerhouse of NYC musicians called Lifted Crew created the dynamic sounds of yesteryear in a modern fashion with live instrumentation. This movement is lead by the powerful and soulful voice of Show Tyme, one of R&B’s best-kept secrets. Show Tyme sang background for many of today’s musical artists who currently have such strong presence on today’s musical charts. To conclude this super group, Las Supper recruited Hip-Hop Legend Big Daddy Kane to add the element of Hip Hop to this Soul Sensation. So join Las Supper on a soulful journey as they go “Back To The Future”

What’s in a name? Everything when it comes to this triple threat artist (Singer, Songwriter, Producer) Show Tyme. Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, he has proven himself to be the epitome of soul expression. Show Tyme began honing his skills at a young age in the church as a drummer. His parents were a prominent singing/piano duo; so it was predestined for him to one day pick up the microphone. Growing up in a household where Donny, Teddy, Stevie, Aretha, Sam, Otis, and James were the order of the day, it was only a matter of time before the soul Gods paid Show Tyme a visit. He has worked with some of the music industries elite; such as Case, Donell Jones, Kelly Price, Guru, KC & JoJo, Musiq Soulchild, J Dilla, M.O.P. and of course Pharoahe Monch (Desire, Push, Pain, Clap One Day). Therefore, you will truly see what he learned in his soulful household as you listen to his powerful lead vocals in Las Supper.

Lifted Crew is a New York City based Hip Hop band that engrosses the listener with its eclectic concoction of Soul, Funk, and R&B. These young musicians will make you feel like they have played for Earth, Wind & Fire or the J.B.’s in some other lifetime. This 10-piece powerhouse consists of hard-hitting horns, an explosive rhythm section, and gives a whole new meaning to the term “Give The Drummer Some”. Two sultry female vocalists, two MC’s, and the soulful/rock vocals of Nicky Cake accompany the musicians. Lifted Crew’s innovative sound is a product of their diverse musical and cultural backgrounds, allowing them to create songs that intelligently bridge the gap between music lovers, hip-hop heads, and everyday listeners alike. Every tree has it’s roots and Lifted Crew makes Las Supper stand firm and tall.

Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn gave birth to one of hip-hop’s most lyrical, diverse, innovative, and trendsetting M.C.’s. This artist is known by many monikers, such as Dark Gable, Black Caesar, and King Asiatic Nobody’s Equal but he is known to the world as Big Daddy Kane. This baritone voiced, stylish dressing M.C. was the one to bring the “playa” element to hip-hop. Along with Bobby Brown and Michael Jordan, Kane put dark skin back on the map. Big Daddy Kane was the first rapper to ever hold not one but two sold out shows at the world famous Apollo Theater for women only. Appearing on magazine covers from Right On! to The Source, and let’s not forget the infamous Madonna Sex book which featured Kane in half nude photos with Madonna and Naomi Campbell. Big Daddy Kane has collaborated with artists such as Public Enemy, Busta Rhymes on up to Barry White and the legendary Quincy Jones. His lyrical gymnastics and passion for soul music makes him a unique figure in Las Supper.

At just 22 years old, Shorty Da Prince was host to a highly-rated night show on Detroit’s Hot 102.7. He may be young, but he’s no amateur. This radio talent has been surfing the airwaves since age 12. But not only is the St. Louis-born personality privy to radio, he’s known to rock the mic, too. After being discovered by Kevin Liles at age 15, Shorty signed to Atlantic/Warner Bros. Records and released the dance-driven track “Wah Wah Wow” in 2008. He has also worked with Trey Songz, Maino and B.o.B. In 2012, he took on his most exciting career milestone as co-host of BET’s 106 & Park.

“The moment she starts singing, you remember her slinky voice and why all four judges turned around during her audition [for The Voice.]” (Rolling Stone)

Before celebrating her 25th birthday, indiepop songstress Charlotte Sometimes already found herself praised by critics and superstars alike. As Blake Shelton, her coach on NBC’s The Voice recently put it, “She’s a true artist and true artists have visions.”
This vision is perfectly captured on the new EP, Circus Head, a 5 song gem which showcases her signature style which “earns her instant attention.” (The New York Times) From the infectiously catchy opener, “Brilliant Broke and Beautiful,” to the sentimental “Paint The Sky,” Circus Head puts Charlotte’s strong and attention grabbing vocals on display atop perfectly crafted pop hooks. In addition to making the top 24 on Season 2 of The Voice, Charlotte Sometimes has been named a VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist and one of the “Top 100 Bands You Need To Know” by Alternative Press magazine. She has toured in support of Butch Walker, Gavin Degraw, Pat Monahan and The Hush Sound. Circus Head is available now, and Charlotte Sometimes is touring through Spring 2013.

Born and bred from the streets of New Orleans, Louisiana, enter into the game, 20-year-old August Alsina…

With the love and hustle of the Crescent City running through his veins, August is eager to follow in the footsteps of the NOLA music legends that paved his way. His recently inked deal Def Jam Recordings looks to be a great step in the right direction, but music wasn’t always in his future.

August learned at an early age that drugs and money could make you, or break you. With both his father and stepfather battling crack addiction, August’s mother moved their family to Houston, Texas in search of a fresh start. But Houston provided no happy ending. For years a young August endured a home life plagued by drugs and violence. At just 14, he got word from New Orleans that is father, August Sr., lost his battle with drugs and alcohol.

In an attempt to escape his reality, August took to Youtube, where he posted dozens of homemade performance videos. His clips covering Musiq Soulchild, Lyfe Jennings and others went viral, generating millions of views in just over a month. It seemed that he was finally taking his first steps toward a bright future in music, but just a year later, reality hit home when his best friend was shot and killed in the streets of Houston. As quickly as August appeared, he vanished form Youtube, back to the real world. With tensions mounting at home, 16-year-old August was kicked out. Alone, he returned to New Orleans and took to the streets, selling drugs as a means of survival.

With his older brother also in the streets hustling, it wouldn’t be long before August learned that the addiction to money could be as deadly as the addiction to drugs. Just days before August’s 18th birthday, his older brother was gunned down in New Orleans East, another unsolved murder in one of the nations most dangerous cities. “I never expected them [the police] to find his killer”, August explains. “People die everyday in the streets of New Orleans. Unfortunately, death has become a way of life,” but not for August. His brother’s death became his motivation to not become a statistic, but to pursue his musical aspirations on an entirely new level.

Under the guidance of Noontime Unlimited (management and production company), August relocated to Atlanta in 2011 to begin carving his own musical path with his life experiences at the center of his artistry. He recently teamed up with Hoodrich/MMG’s own DJ Scream for the release of his debut mixtape, ‘The Product’, which spawned the internet and radio buzzing anti-love single, “Sucka” which features fellow New Orleans crooner Lloyd.

Yet to reach 21 years old, with already a lifetime of experiences behind him, August is living proof that your past doesn’t have to dictate your future, and that life’s hardships can be the motivation required for success. With Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter The Dream prepping August’s debut project for release through his Radio Killa/Def Jam imprint

Drawing influences from the likes of Aretha Franklin, James Brown, and Stevie Wonder, “New York Funk Exchange” is an unforgettable force preparing to take over the industry one groove at a time. Hailing from Brooklyn, the band is fronted by powerhouse vocalist Serena Fortier and complemented by a funkadelic cluster of brass “The Wall Street Horns”. NYFE are now in the process of finalizing the follow up to their debut album, “The Funkonomic Stimulus Plan”, that was released in 2009 and garnered rave reviews which helped paved the way for performances on SIRIUS XM’s “Ron and Fez Show”.

Rashad Ballard, better known as Lil Chuckee, is a teenage rapper from New Orleans. He currently lives in Atlanta because of the Katrina disaster though he did not let this stop his ambition to become a rapper. Chuckee is a hard-worker much like his boss Lil Wayne, as he has released 5 mixtapes already at the age of 16. Weezy discovered Lil Chuckee‘s talent whilst he was at a video shoot and stated that he loved the fact that Chuckee‘s parents supported his rapping so much.

Lil Chuckee also appeared on 2 tracks off the Gold certified We Are Young Money compilation album, one of which was released as a single with a music video. This was called “Girl I Got You” and was Chuckee‘s first time in the mainstream media. It is perhaps his desire to be a rapper that has got him this publicity and judging by the famous Young Mula work ethic that he has, it wont be his last.

Vanderpump Rules follows the passionate, volatile and hot-and-bothered-staff at Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood mainstay SUR. Lisa balances her motherly instincts and shrewd business sense to keep control over this wild group of employees as they pursue their dreams and each other while working at her “Sexy, Unique Restaurant.” Often seen on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, SUR has been the backdrop for many memorable moments, including the unexpected encounter between Brandi Glanville and Scheana Marie, a female server who famously had an affair with Brandi’s ex-husband.
